Building your individualized treatment course

We will work together to build your individualized treatment course, tailored to meet your own needs. Everyone’s treatment course is unique, and many are built by drawing influence from various therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)How you think impacts how you feel

    • CBT looks at the patterns in which you think and addressing how these patterns of thought are impacting your wellness and functioning.

    • CBT helps clients become aware and identify harmful patterns of thinking that may be contributing to emotional distress. It also aims to modify dysfunctional coping strategies and develop healthier coping skills.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)Pain is a part of life and unavoidable

    • ACT seeks to clarify one’s core values, and use these values as a compass to guide behaviour and decision making, in hopes of fostering a sense of purpose and direction.

    • ACT also improves one’s psychological flexibility, which refers to the ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances, while still making decisions that align with your values.

  • Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) Emotions are central to human experience

    • EFT focuses on building emotional awareness, and harnessing the power/impact of emotions as our key communicators as they are integral to human experience and psychological health.

    • EFT often seeks to explore underlying and unprocessed/unresolved emotional experiences that contribute to current challenges.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - Active and radical effort towards growth and change

    • DBT offers practical skills and strategies to help clients achieve greater emotional stability and wellbeing in their lives.

    • DBT focuses on 4 primary modules, including Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance
